1/29/2021 - Optimum Monitoring Weather & Potential Storm
The National Weather Service is predicting that an arctic airmass will impact our area Friday (1/29) bringing northwest winds with 20- 40 mph gusts. In addition, there is the potential for a winter storm to affect the Tri-State area Sunday (1/31) through Tuesday (2/1) resulting in heavy snow accumulation, freezing air, and strong to damaging winds with 40- 50mph gusts. The combination of strong winds, heavy snow and ice have the potential to blow down trees and power lines which may have the potential to cause power outages and network damage that could impact internet, TV and phone service.
Optimum is monitoring the network and will report any significant impacts to the system. In the event Optimum services are impacted, customers can visit My Account for service updates. They can also:
1. Visit optimum.net/support/outage
2. Message Optimum at optimum.net/chat
3. Send Tweet to @Optimumhelp
4. Call us at (866) 950-3278
In addition, costumers can sign up to receive service alerts via text or voice message by going to My Account. Once set up, Optimum notify them directly when outages affect service. Customers will get restoration timing and other updates until their Optimum service is restored.
